Tempranillo

Tempranillo

Overall Impression:

Tempranillo originates in Spain and constitutes a large percentage of all vines planted in Spain.

Tempranillo is a thick skinned and deeply colored variety that provides structure for most of Spain’s red wines. Tempranillo does not typically have a particularly distinct flavor identity but is sometimes described as strawberries, tobacco, spice, and leather. Blend with more perfumed varieties to add interest to aroma and flavor profile.
