Marechal Foch is a French hybrid that was bred in Alsace and has the vinifera variety Goldriesling as a parent. This variety was once grown widely in the Loire Valley and is currently very popular in eastern Canada and New York state. Marechal Foch can produce fruity wines that loosely resemble Pinot Noir. Carbonic maceration is often practiced with this variety. Early ripening and cold hardiness make this a great cold climate choice.
