This strain collection welcomes cooler temps with full-bodied complex strains like Wyeast Bohemian Ale Blend and Old Ale Blend, while subtle fruit tones with a crisp Budvar Lager finish, allow us to savor the last days of summer.
Those looking to maximize fresh hop season will love our exclusive Wyeast Bohemian Ale Blend. This blend compliments the profile of hop-driven recipes and handles higher SG without a problem when crafting double IPAs.
Budvar Lager is a professional brewer’s favorite among our Private Collection lager strains, no matter the season. Try this strain for crafting a variety of autumn-inspired brews, while you master your lagering techniques.
Before wild & sour beer styles took off in popularity, Wyeast set the standard with blended cultures that took the guesswork out of producing the perfect balance of funky character and healthy, complete fermentation. The Old Ale Blend is a straightforward option if you are brewing a Wild & Sour style for the first time, or for those with a favorite lambic in the fridge that’s destined to be added to your next creative fermentation.

1087-PC: Wyeast Bohemian Ale Blend
Saccharomyces cerevisiae blend
Profile: Formerly known as Wyeast Ale Blend 1540-PC, this is a blend of the best ale strains to provide quick starts, good flavor, and good flocculation. The profile of these strains provides a balanced finish for British and American style ales.
Beer styles: American Pale Ale, American Amber Ale, American Brown Ale, American Stout, American IPA, Double IPA, American Barleywine, American Porter, Oatmeal Stout, Sweet Stout, Imperial Stout, Foreign Extra Stout, Cream Ale
Apparent ABV Tolerance: 11%
Flocculation: Medium-High
Apparent attenuation: 71-75%
Temperature range: 64-72 °F (18-22 °C)
2000-PC: Budvar Lager
Saccharomyces pastorianus
Profile: The Budvar style strain has a nice malty nose with subtle fruit tones and a rich malt profile on the palate. It finishes malty but dry, well balanced, and crisp. Hop character comes through in the finish.
Beer styles: Czech Premium Pale Lager, American Light Lager, Pre-Prohibition Lager, German Helles Exportbier, American Lager

9097-PC: Ole Ale Blend
Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Brettanomyces
Profile:To bring in a bit of English brewing heritage we developed the “Old Ale” blend. It includes an attenuative ale strain along with a small amount of Brettanomyces. The blend will ferment well in dark worts, producing fruity beers with nice complexity. The Brettanomyces adds a pie cherry-like flavor and sourness during prolonged aging.
