ORDINARY BITTER

Batch size: 5 gallons (19 L)

ABV: 3.8%

IBUs: 25

SRM: 7.5

Original Gravity: 1.039

Final Gravity: 1.010

 

FERMENTABLES:

  • 6.5 lbs (2.95 kg) English Pale Malt
  • 0.25 lbs (0.11 kg) Crystal 120L
  • 0.25 lbs (0.11 kg) Victory

Mash with 9.25 quarts (8.75 L) of water at 152 °F (66 °C) minutes.

Collect 6 gallons (22.7 L) of wort and boil for 60 minutes with the following hop additions.

 

HOPS

  • 0.5 oz (14 g) Northdown – 60 minutes
  • 1.0 oz (28 g) East Kent Goldings – 10 minutes

 

YEAST

Cool wort to 67 °F (19.4 °C) and pitch 1 Activator™. Allow temperature to rise to 70 °F (21 °C) during fermentation.

 

ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS:

Package with 1.5 to 2.0 volumes CO2. Serve at 50 °F (10 °C).
