Sauvignon Blanc

Sauvignon Blanc

Overall Impression:

Sauvignon Blanc has been proven to be one of the parents of Cabernet Sauvignon. Bordeaux is most likely the origin of this variety.

Sauvignon Blanc can produce very aromatic and refreshingly crisp wines that are best drunk young. This variety tends to be very vigorous which, if not properly managed, can lead to grapes that do not reach maturity and have a very herbaceous and rank aroma. Sauvignon Blanc is used for varietals, dry blends, and sweet blends. This variety can be oaked and aged for a couple of years or can be drunk immediately without any oak aging.
