Belgian yeast strains are renowned for their unique, dynamic characteristics, including apple, plum, bubble gum, tropical fruit, pineapple, spicy phenolics, complex esters, and tartness.
Belgian beers pair well with summer fare, such as a witbier alongside salads with light citrus, feta, goat cheese; fruity dishes; or desserts with dark chocolate; pickled dishes to go with tart lambics; they are also ideal as a standalone to enjoy and savor.
We compiled a list of the long-time-favorite recipes from Wyeast’s brewers using 5151-PC Brettyanomyces claussenii, 3942-PC Belgian Wheat, and 2463-PC Forbidden Fruit.
